லண்டனில் வாட்ஸ் ஆப்க்கு தடை வருமா..?

பிரிட்டனில் வாட்ஸ்-ஆப், ஸ்நாப் சாட் போன்ற ஆன்லைன் மெசேஜிங் ஆப்ஸ்களுக்கு விரைவில் தடை விதிக்கப்படும் என தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளது. சென்ற வாரம் பாரீஸில் தீவிரவாதிகள் நடத்திய திடீர் தாக்குதல் பிரிட்டனையும் உலுக்கியது. இதையடுத்து, அந்நாட்டு பிரதமர் டேவிட் கேமரூன் தீவிரவாதத்தை ஒடுக்க கடுமையான சட்டங்களை கொண்டுவர முடிவு செய்துள்ளார். புதிதாக வரவுள்ள ஆன்டி-டெரர் சட்டங்கள் அடிப்படையில் ஆன்லைன் கம்யூனிகேஷன் வசதிகளே தீவிரவாதிகள் எளிதாக தகவல் பறிமாறிக்கொள்ள ஏதுவாக இருப்பதாகவும், எனவே பிரிட்டன் புலனாய்வுத் துறை ஆன்லைன் கம்யூனிகேஷன் வசதிகளுக்கு கடுமையான கட்டுப்பாடுகளை கொண்டு வரும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

இது குறித்து பேசிய அவர், எளிதாக தொடர்பு கொள்ளக்கூடிய எந்தவித தகவல் தொடர்பு வழிமுறைகளையும் நான் அனுமதிக்க போவதில்லை. அதற்கு நிச்சயம் வாய்ப்பே கிடையாது என்று திட்டவட்டமாக அறிவித்துள்ளார். இந்த சட்டங்கள் அமலுக்கு வந்தால், ஸ்நாப் சாட், ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்தின் ஐமெசேஜ், வாட்ஸ்-ஆப் போன்றவைகளுக்கு நிரந்தரமாக தடை விதிக்கப்படும் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Next time you complain about your phone autosaving Whatsapp images, or

how weird your little sister’s Snapchat pictures are, remember that

David Cameron wants to stop you from sending them altogether.

Dave’s got so sick of Nigel Farage reading his messages and not replying

that he wants to pull the plug on WhatsApp, Snapchat and ‘other

encrypted online applications’.

 The move comes in reaction to stopping messaging services that

intelligence forces (ie. MI5) can’t read. Mr Cameron’s reasoning for the

move to ban Whatsapp is that, apparently, they’re a main form of

communication between potential terrorists.

An example of what he means is likely to be the 2011 riots, where the

now essentially defunct BBM was used as a source of communication

between those involved.
